Hi guys, new install of elementaryOS. Everything (so far) works, except for sound. "No Output Device" showing. Not sure how to add it either. Tried running all the updates (Hera 5.1.6) and tried "sudo apt-get update" with a possibly found "sudo apt-install pavucontrol" fix. Still no Audio showing. Not sure where to go with this... Any ideas, tips? THANKS!!! Lenovo Yoga C940 dual boot.
What sound card do you have? (follow the post below to find out what sound card it is under linux) https://elementaryforums.com/index.php?threads/when-the-system-is-turned-on-no-music-is-played.3141/
I have this problem, too! The sound setting says both "No Output Device" and "No Input Device." My sound card (I think) is an Intel multimedia audio controller. I'm running eOS Hera 5.1.7 on an Asus Chromebook C434 Flip, and my kernel version is 5.4. I just installed eOS last night and completely removed Chrome OS, so eOS is all that's on it right now. So far, everything else seems to be working, including the camera and video--I can SEE videos on YouTube, just not hear them. (And I'm guessing that the lack of input device means the microphone doesn't work either...) Thanks in advance for any help! I'm relatively new to Linux and have spent a little time with eOS before, but this is the first time I'm planning on using it as my daily driver.
