I have been running elementary OS on my laptop (Nothing fancy, some cheap Dell) successfully for a few months. I really like the operation system, so I decided to install it on my daily driver which i use for work. This is actually went very smooth. Everything is installed and working great. Im really impressed, however once I installed Genymotion and tried to run it. The emulator gets to the "initializing" part of the boot process and my entire computer freezes and I have to do a hard reboot. This one piece is required for my work and is the one thing keeping windows installed on my machine. Any help would be great. I would post a log of the crash, but I cant seem to find one any ideas would be helpful. My computer specs: 32 gigs of ram 240 SSD Nvidia 1060 I7 processor Little off topic, but might be related. After the recent update for the OS things are much more shaky and not running as smooth.
After a lot of tweaking to my system and forum surfing. I finally figured it out. VurtualBox from the app store is the issue. Everything was resolved simply by going to VirtualBox's website and downloading the .deb file and installing it locally.
