Hi all. I recently changed from Freya to Juno and overall it's ok but there is one big problem, which is that the display will suddenly rotate 90 degrees randomly and the pointer will stop moving linearly but moves instead in a wide spirally motion. The only way I have found to deal with this is to scroll in this slow spiral manner to the power icon and then scroll spirally to shut down and then to scroll spirally to restart. Obviously anything I'm working on gets reset. It just did it then. I am now typing sideways (ie, top to bottom of screen). This is really annoying. I now have to create this thread sideways, then scroll spirally etc etc. Please, is anyone able to help? It never happened with Freya.

I have a HP Structure 14 inch workstation. I as of late updated from Ubuntu 17.04 to 17.10. Everything went well, yet when I boot up the framework, my screen turn was set to left. At that point I had a go at utilizing xandr to turn my screen, yet my each exertion fizzled. Would anybody be able to help me on the equivalent?

Yup. After a couple of years using Gnome flavoured Ubuntu, I needed to update and so decided on Elementary (having used it 2016 - 2018 in the past). Then "Oh my !" I got this rotated screen issue. For me it's been days of booting up, then working upside down until I could get to Settings and then select and apply right way up in the display section of the settings.

Hope this helps some others Screen rotation issue in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on system restart | ProgramsBuzz

    I went for the

    sudo apt-get remove iio-sensor-proxy

solution (best do it AFTER you've reset your screen to the right way up !)

And so far all's been fine since. (But I've got to say, using Ubuntu and Win10 on a 2018 era HP Pavilion laptop for 3 1/2 years I'd never experienced ANYTHING like this issue before. It started happening on about day 4 having installed Elementary and booted up each day without issue up until that point. Maddening.)
