I've just downloaded Freya, and love it. I want to enable RDP to it, and have installed xrdp, but I have acouple of questions. What is the correct valut to put in the xsessions file.? I've read a bit about this, and it seems there are a few problems with it, a few people saying that it has issues. Is there a fix available? Thanks for your help in advance Julian
I too was having a problem with xRDP and Elementary OS 0.3.2. A work around I found was install xfce4 and point xRDP to use it in .xsession. Personally, I would prefer to use Pantheon because it looks nicer, but pointing it to gnome-session --session=pantheon created a grey screen with Xs and when I moved the mouse, ended the session. Here's what I did: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install xfce4 echo xfce4-session >~/.xsession sudo service xrdp restart Hopefully someone will chime in here to tell us how to get Pantheon to work.
Thanks for that, much appreciated. I was looking at a remote workstation, and really liked the interface. So it's only ever going to run over RDP. Does anyone have any further suggestions? Thanks
me too, same problem but installing and configuring xfce4 does not work, grey background with X cursor
