    Hi everyone
I have the following problem with my touchpad .
I have installed elementary on a 2009 macbook and ever since the first installation ( i have re-installed 3 times trying to fix the problem) i have not managed to find a solution .
Googling the problem brought up one more person experiencing the same issue and no solution was given .

    The problem in short :

whenever i put my finger on the touchpad the mouse points starts to jitter . Spastically jump up and down in a small area . For as long as my finger in touching the touchpad , the pointer is jittering .
Even though is something that could be ignored under some circumstances , when trying to either press the minimizw button or click on a link , due to this jittering the pointer never actually sits on the link or button , thus i have to struggle to press it . The moment i take my finger off the touchpad , in an attempt to leave the cursor on the link and then press , the pointer bounces off the link due to my finger leaving the touchpad .

    What i have tried :

Playing around with all apsects of sensitivity in the system settings for mouse-touchpad
    Tried updating
Tried to install or update synaptics , however i keep getting the message "synaptics package does exist"

I also have installed ubuntu and the macosx on the same laptop and have had no problem with the touchpad .
    only elementary has this issue.

    When running xinput-list i get this :
