Hello everyone, I recently installed Juno on a friends new notebook PC, which has a i3 7th gen with Intel HD Graphics, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and a 1080p screen. After setting up the thing and updating everything i noticed that youtube videos are stuttering like crazy every few seconds for about 1-2 seconds. The sound is fine. The system itself is not lagging or stuttering, everything is running smooth. Its just the flash videos on Youtube and other websites in Opera and Chrome. Firefox is somewhat better. What could be causing this? I even tried running a fresh Juno directly from an USB drive and got the same problems. Any help would be much appreciated.
Try check about:config in the browser and check hardware acceleration. Do also check latency timers and the Irq interrupts for tweaks.
Weird. For some reason disabling hardware acceleration fixed it (for now). I'll report back if it keeps happening again. Thank you, sir. Edit: Ok, apparently it started even happening in Firefox and disabling hardware acceleration didn't fix it unfortunately. It seems to be happening with all browsers, even in Epiphany. Seems to be a compatibility issue. I wonder if it might be driver related.
Update: After trying and having the same issues in Loki and Lubuntu I gave up and reinstalled Windows 10 on the laptop. The videos are working fine in all browsers now.
