I do not know why, but my network settings aren't in my system settings. I installed elementary OS 2 days ago and it was working great, connected to the internet, no problems. Now, i want to switch networks, so I click on my network icon and go to "Network Settings..." only to find out that I dont have them. the application is gone from my computer. Everytime I try to find online help I always end up finding a forum that discribes a user not being able to connect to a network at all, but that isnt my problem. I installed wicd and I can connect without issues. However, since the appcenter is linked to the network manager, I cannot access the appcenter. I have ran the network-manager-gnome install and I still dont have network settings.
