Cannot create successful live usb with dd

    Hi, I just downloaded freya with md5sum:

    742cc5b2c21bb1872954b13b7b2091a3 elementaryos-freya-amd64.20150411.iso

    and dd it to my usb stick:

    $ sudo dd if=elementaryos-freya-amd64.20150411.iso of=/dev/sdb

    It finishes correctly but it doesn't seem to work, when I select the USB as booting device it would just return to select another device for booting. Nothing happens.

    I've seen posts where people say they've successfully installed it the same way I am trying to. Any help is appreciated.
