Hi all, I keep booting into a black screen, ever since installing nvidia-304 it has been acting up this way. If I didn't install it, it would cause the computer to keep logging me out every time I tried logging in. The second time I tried installing it, I did it without the command line, but now every time I boot it would get to a black screen and nothing else. Not even the login screen appears. I've tried using help from a thread like this to get through but to no avail: - nomodeset My computer is running: - used to be windows 7 - amd 64 x2 - 4GB of ram - nvidia-304 graphic card Any help would be great...
Same problem here. After Nvidia update: 1- Instead of graphic screen with elementary logo system boots in a verbose text mood. 2- At the end when xwindows starts, sceen just flickers. 3- Can't even open a non graphic terminal. Say Ctrl Alt f1 shows a login promt but soon after screen flickers again. Please help: 1- How do I login to a terminal? (Maybe ssh?) 3- How do I modify the run level? To allow me fix xwidowes. Is there any other suggestion? Thx
