    Hey did you check power settings?

    There is an automatically adjust brightness option, maybe try turning this off and try it again?

    Ok so you want brightness to stop being changed if you use your AC adapter?

    For a workaround solution there is a popular tool called Brightness Controller which will override your system brightness settings.

    If you set your display brightness with this tool instead of in your power settings it will override and it should stop the brightness resetting after you plug charger in.

    To install Brightness Controller is easy just run the below;

    Code (Text):

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:apandada1/brightness-controller
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install brightness-controller-simple

    Good luck
