(fan issue SOLVED, see commands below!) this is actually not yet a cry for help...first off its a big thanks and applause! elementary is the right(eous) way of putting style back where the rocks of it came from...to freedom good to finally be able of getting a "workers mac" which is actually an insult...sorry, this here is much better...only thing on hardwareside thats missing is highlightable keys...on my good ol' probook...will find a used elitebook sometime and its done...so for a few bucks one can get all the advances of a certain os without the major flaws/expenses...big thanks from austria and keep rocking elementary team! everything I need running out of the box so far... only issue I got for now is the old fanalwaysrunningthing...thats on other distros as well...will look into it soon on my machine probably a little nasty because its switchable graphics and sometime this is related to graphics drivers I read...but sometimes not...can be bios or on and on...got it one time on debian i think...unchecking the "always run fan" thing in bios and getting os only to accept my onboard intel and not the radeon because in my case I just don't need it....whatever, just blabla... again my actual intent of writing here: great os, taking it all back where it started and belongs, thanks, keep up!!! UPDATE: but of course people out there...feel free to answer about the fan issue...it might be helpful for users if there isn't such a thread in the forums yet UPDATE: i got the fan-issue fixed by looking into one of the sites that come up when you enter "top things to do after installing elementary"not 100% sure cause I did so many updates at... but I think the commands that helped are as below...they say it should also fix overheating... sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linrunner/tlp sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install tlp tlp-rdw sudo tlp start hope this helps somebody, nice day!
