Hello, i am very new in the Linux World. ^^ Is there are driver for my internet stick (n300) ? And is it bad if I do not have Internet during the installation? - lolpop
welcooome to linux elementaryos is a nice distro for the first touch with linux is this your stick? http://www.netgear.de/home/products/networking/wifi-adapters/WNA3100.aspx i have made very bad experience with installing elementaryos 0.3.1 without internet-connection. the installer seems a bit broken regarding grub (see install-problem threads in this forum), but it seems to run very well (for me) when you have an internet connection for patching the system while it does install itself.
Thanks ^^. Yes, that is my stick But do I need a driver for my stick? (I have only a Windows driver for this stick)
Hm, i am not sure if it works out of the box. As they wrote here (german, sry), the router should run with "b/g" mode and not (the new) "n" mode. Maybe the driver support is better since last year, i am not sure.. The best idea would be you create a boot DVD/Stick and start ElementaryOS in "Try ElementaryOS" Mode. The desktop will be completely loaded into the RAM without installing, there you can try out your stick
