Hello, i'm using elementary OS Luna for quite a while on my old Acer Travelmate 292 LMi M11. After breakdown of this Notebook, i had the chance to get an nearly new Acer Travelmate 290 LMi. The main difference between the two TM's is the ATI Radeon 9700 whitch is missing in the new 290 LMi. Both have non-PAE CPU's (Intel Banias). I hoped just to change the HDD from old to new an i maybe can use the already made installation of elementary without loss. The installation was very complicated because of the old acer-hotkeys and WLAN-switch, that for i tried to overcome without installing it from the beginning again. The problem now is, elementary bootscreen is loaded an desktop-background is shown also mouse-arrow, but nothing else. No taskbar or menu, nor icons. When i start the terminal with shortcut, i only see the shadow of the window, not the window itself. (in picture below terminal was started and the shut-down-menu) I think displaydriver is the wrong one. With ctrl-alt-f1 i can start the console and even log in. I already tried bootoptions and added "xforcevesa", but nothing changes. Is there anything i can further try? thanks, jj
