Could you try to reinstall pantheon files:

    Code (Text):
    sudo apt-get --reinstall install pantheon-files
Alternatively, delete them completely (purge) and install it again:

    Code (Text):
    sudo apt-get --purge remove pantheon-files
    sudo apt-get install pantheon-files
    does it help?

In my last post, I explain why I had to give up on Elementary. This one happened to me too. In such a small amount of time, too many reinstall as a solution to a small problem. I'm so sorry to leave Elementary. I'm really begging the creators to iron off all those "little" things. They add up and make a big thing that lead to a breakhearting decision. Please take my comment seriously.

you can replace pantheon files with other file manager.
I recommend pcmanfm. you can find it in software center.
