    So I'm sure these ACPI PCC probe failed threads and posts may be getting a bit repetitive, but has there been a solution to them?

    I am trying to install the latest Elementary OS Freya on my desktop at home that only has Windows 7 enterprise.

    Trying to do a fresh install but booting off the live CD and trying to select either Default, install elementary OS will not do anything.

    I am stuck at that message. I have searched google and couldn't find much at all.

    I have tried to use Tab but that didn't help. Once that ACPI error comes, the cursor doesn't link. Unit seems to be in a frozen state.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    I'm having the same issue.. I've tried using a LiveCD and a USB installation. Both don't work :(
    Can anyone shed some light on the issue?

    Thx

    As far as i know, the message ACPI PCC probe failed is only an info and not an error (often discussed at other [ubuntu] linux boards), the kernel "should" boot in the background further. Ori, are you running also Unetbootin? If you have Windows, try Rufus , if you already installed a linux distro you can simply use one dd line

    Code (Text):
    sudo dd bs=4M if=/path/to/elementary_isofile.iso of=/dev/sdx && sync
    • Check the mountpoint with df -h , my USB Stick was /dev/sde1
    • The USB Stick must be formatted with FAT 32, otherwise it will not boot properly
    Hope it helps.

    I used Rufus to create the USB.. I'm also well aware of the fact that it's not an actual error, but thanks for confirming that :)
    I have Windows 8.1 installed and I don't have any other OS on that computer. I kept the computer going for around 10 minutes before realizing it doesn't load. Would it take longer for it to boot?

    Thank you so much for your help :)
