My computer pops up a message that Ubuntu 14.04_Hardware Enablement expired on 8/4/2016. Subsequent elementary updates have now broken my installation. I raised this on stack overflow, and it's an Ubuntu issue that is only resolved by upgrade to 16.04 But Loki isn't ready yet.

What's going on - I feel betrayed. Now I am forced to choose between upgrading to a beta os or switching to another os. Or maybe buying a Mac...

I found that if I disable the power saving features in Freya, I can prevent the issue. It also prevents battery life...
I tried reinstalling Freya. It was fixed until the updates got up to date and the HWE error popped up again, and then the error is reproduced.

So, can beta really be that bad? So I installed Loki. It fixes the error. A couple of apps have changed names. Other than that, I can't really tell the difference between Freya and Loki. I'm ok with that. I've got other things to do than fight with my desktop.
