    Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum, and new to Linux. I was having issues like everyone else with grub and having it not boot. Here's what I did, and hopefully this will work for everyone else.

(I installed it on Ubuntu 14.04 OS)

First I downloaded Elementary OS from the main page on elementary.io

Created USB boot file on startup disk creator

Restarted the computer with USB connected

When it starts up and you are prompted to choose try elementary or install, I chose try elementary.

While you're in this mode make sure to connect to the Internet

After you connect to the internet and make sure its working properly, on the bottom right you can continue your install of whichever way you chose dual boot, primary os, etc.(I made this my main OS, I'm going to dual boot soon)

Make sure that it is connected to the internet during the whole install

If it works, during the install you will notice it installing more things than last time.

Once you notice this, it should work.

This worked for me, and hopefully it works for someone or everyone else.

If it doesn't work the first time, try it again. Any questions, just ask. Thanks.

    Cheers!

Important: boot USB needs to be FAT32 and not NTFS formatted, i've did this mistake one time and was wondering why it didn't boot :oops::rolleyes:
