I have some applications that require the terminal, like 'emacs (terminal)'.
When I try to open a file with that 'emacs (terminal)' I get the error: "failed to execute child process: xterm".
And when I try to open the app itself nothing happens (probably the same error).

How do I get the pantheon terminal that comes with elementary to open instead of xterm when I invoke a terminal application?

    what I've done
I've looked at the 'dconf editor > org >gnome > desktop > applications > terminal' at the setting for the "Terminal program to use when starting applications that require one.'
It says that it's depreciated and the default terminal is handled in GIO.
