When I type a keyword in the address bar, Midori does offer a dropdown with several search engines, on which I can click to search with them. But I cannot seem to change the default search engine; e.g. the one that should be used when I just type and hit Enter. The Help article for Midori says that (default) search engines are editable under Tools > Manage Search Engines, but I have no idea where that is, I don't think I have that. I just did a fresh install of Elementary Freya, I am running Midori 0.5.11, and the only thing close to "tools" is "preferences", which contains the following tabs: Startup, Behavior, Browsing, Network, Privacy, and Extensions. None of these contain any options for editing search engines.
Just right click in the url bar/search bar and select "manage search engines". This is a long known "problem" but it seems like the developers don't want to move this option to Midoris settings menu.
Bravo helper. Keep the search options exactly this way..clutter-free. Not a problem at all. elementaryOS is brilliant clean and beautiful. 32-bit Installed on pavillion desktop, eee notebook. LOVE this OS. Thank you for the great work!
