    Hi all,

I am trying to install Elementary Freya on my Virtual Box, regretfully I cannot install the Guest Addition. As consequence I cannot run Elementary in full screen. Within the last days I was trying to search for some information or tutorials, but regretfully without success.

    Here some details:
    currently using VirtualBox 5.0.1 102010
    Host: Windows 10 64bits
Guest: Elementary Frey 64bits. I have installed elementary the same way (Version) like Ubuntu.

Is there a known issue o problem with Elementary on VirtualBox?

I really would appreciate and help or comments.

    Thanks!! ;)

    Hello Darjeeling

    Welcome to the forums.

The Guest Extentions are running fine with Virtualbox 5.0.2 and should too for 5.0.1. The point is, that you have to open the Files App (Applications > Files) and click on the CD-Icon which presents Virtualbox Guest Extentions, before that click elementaryOS is not mounting the extention on /media/xyz/VirtualBox.

After that, just open the Terminal and do this (v5.0.2 here):

    Code (Text):
    cd /media/paradise/VBOXADDITIONS_5.0.2_102096
    sudo ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
    sudo reboot
Does it work now? Let us know.

    Hi Paradise,

thanks for your detailed information! First of all, the guest session mounted perfectly on the Elemetary guest session, I could locate the CD icon on applications > files and on /media/dj/VirtualBox. But VBoxLinuxAdditions did not want to run/install for some reason.

However, after running the commands in the terminal Elementary OS runs fine! Therefore thanks again.

...I really love this Linux Distro !!!
