I'm normally a MacOS user, but I have a desktop for 3D work and want to try Linux to escape the weirdness that is Windows. For the most part Elementary OS is great, but I'm having trouble getting my Wacom Intuos and Huion tablets to work. I understand that Wacom is supported by Linux, and found a way to show the tablet settings through an alternate system manager app, but the tablet is not recognized.

Here's the weird part - pressure settings and default tablet settings work. I just can't change anything to customize tablet buttons or mapping. Happy to do this through terminal if there is a reference somewhere. Thanks!!

Well, since no one answered you, I think you just need to use Ubuntu. It's the easiest way to make work (and you can try in a live USB drive before installing). This is the reason I use Ubuntu. I really want to try other distributions, but Ubuntu is the best in recognizing hardware and making it work. I use a Wacom Intuos Pen Small on Ubuntu, just one of the express keys doesn't work.

I remember there is a terminal software called xsetwacom that you can configure express keys by terminal. I already tried to use it, but I didn't understand how really well, since I'm not a English native speaker. But maybe can help you trying xsetwacom on Elementary.
