Hello, everyone. My name is Joe, and I am new to Linux, coming from the Mac world. I have a Logitech M500 wired mouse, which uses the scroll wheel as a middle mouse button. This is a pain for me to use, so I want to use one of the side thumb buttons as a middle mouse click. After some searching on the all-knowing internets and some fiddling around with XEV and Xbindkeys, I am afraid I am still lost. I was able to find out the the button I want to use, when pressed, is listed as button 8. How can I map button 8 to register as a middle mouse button? Thanks for any guidance! Joe
Sorry I'm not an expert with this mouse, but do either of these articles help (note they are ubuntu based). https://www.ralf-oechsner.de/opensource/page/logitech_performance_mx https://askubuntu.com/questions/152297/how-to-configure-extra-buttons-in-logitech-mouse
