I have a Lenovo x220 with OS Freya. I want to use a Microsoft Sculpt Bluetooth mouse with it, but the bluetooth manager is not maintaining contact with the Mouse over Suspend or Reboot, or even if I don't use the mouse for a while during a login session. The Bluetooth Icon in the Wingpanel conflicts with the Bluetooth manager in Settings, and often the Wingpanel icon disappears. The mouse is recognised in settings, but clicking on connect always fails. The only way to get the mouse to work again is to remove and re-pair it.

I have tried to install Blueman in Software Centre, but the program never shows up in Applications.

I must add, the mouse does work well when paired.

I have managed to get the bluetooth mouse to connect properly using Blueman. I downloaded blueman from Software Centre, and started it in the Terminal with command: blueman-manager, as an icon for it doens't appear automatically in Applications. Now there is a bluetooth icon in the dock which invokes blueman. There is still a bluetooth icon in the wingpanel with an indicator dot for the bluetooth device, but it only serves to disable the connection to the mouse, not to reestablish contact, which is confusing. I think its a pity that this functionality isn't more fully integrated into the operating system from the start.
