    Hi!
I hope it is not rude to post my stackexchange question here.... But mainly, you guys would be the target, and I'm really overwhelmed. If this is not something I should do just please delete my post, or tell me.

I did post it on askubuntu because I think this part of the two OS is the exact same, and I thought I'd reach a wider "audience" there.

(I'm watching this post and the askubuntu one as well.)

    Here's the question: (See UPDATE)

UPDATE: I've posted it on elementaryOS stack: https://elementaryos.stackexchange....pn-networkmanager-invalid-ip4-config-received

Hi, It's not dead, mabe nobody knows the answer.
According to https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/ticket/880 that is a known bug. I dont know which version openVPN do you use (actually I'm not on EOS so I can't check what is latest but should be latest, it is related to security) but you can download some more up to date distro and check if it works (Manjaro, Fedora?) on live cd session. Mabe the problem in on server side. I've never used tap configurations, only simple direct VPNs, I know only some basis of VPNs but I have been using linux from a long time so I'll try to help :D
