I mean seriously that's just wrong.

Of these pictures I only downloaded the catwoman to use as wallpaper. The other pictures are a strange mix of standard wallpapers that come with elementary, pictures that I did not download and somehow show up anyway, and screenshots of websites I visited?

Explain this please. How do these screenshots suddenly show up? And who on earth would want that as a wallpaper?

These are likely screenshots you took and are automatically saved in ~/Picture/Screenshots. Any images stored in the Pictures folder show up as possible wallpapers. Delete the images from the screenshots folder and you should be good to go.

There is no screenshots folder. Only a pictures folder. And the screenshots of websites do not show up in that folder but the screenshot I posted above does show up. And that particular screenshot isn't shown when I select custom wallpaper despite being in the pictures folder. So thanks for the help but you're wrong. It doesn't even work the way you describe (using latest version of loki btw)

After rebooting the pc two days later one of those screenshots of a website still shows up when selecting custom wallpaper. And I have no idea where that screenshot is, it's not in my pictures folder. I swear I did not take any screenshots of websites! I just installed elementary and changing the wallpaper was the very first thing I did (besides browsing for a wallpaper to try out)

I believe the solution to your problem is here. That will take you to the official stackexchange page for elementary. The primary site for elementary support. You'll likely get faster responses to your questions there.
