I noticed in the "Show your Desktop" thread (in off-topic) a bunch of the samples have various dynamic info elements on the desktop like clocks and weather. This got me thinking of some things I would like to clutter up my desktop. I'm not sure where to look for these desktop widget things. Can someone point me at a place to go looking? As for what I would like: - The usual clock, calendar. - Recent e-mail (say top X from, subject, date from inbox) - Possibly an RSS/Atom summary feed (to get news and updates to this forum - List of skype friends that are currently online - Settings to include different widgets depending on the days of the week: - On weekends get a list of Steam friends list indicating who is online and what they are playing - On Thursdays and Fridays, the weather forecast for the weekend - Hourly weather forecast for the current day during the day - Tomorrow's weather forecast after 4pm I'm probably dreaming about things that don't exist and are currently beyond my ability to make.
