Hi, I have installed EOS Freya (Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS) and have the following problem when trying to install Skype: $ sudo apt-get install skype Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: skype : Depends: skype-bin E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. When doing an apt-get update I get errors such as: Err http://ppa.launchpad.net freya/main Sources 404 Not Found Hit http://security.ubuntu.com trusty-security/multiverse amd64 Packages Err http://ppa.launchpad.net freya/main amd64 Packages 404 Not Found Err http://ppa.launchpad.net freya/main i386 Packages 404 Not Found What do I need to do to resolve this?
Software and update wouldn't open......I tried that. In the end I decided to install Zorin as I didn't have time to download EOS again and install. EOS is great and looks great and I may go back to using it but for now I'll use Zorin.
