Juno how to open code text editor from command line

as per title

how do I open code text editor from command line?

have tried code but doesn't work... and looking up applications doesn't give much details about the program (which i assume use to be scratch-text-editor?)

Open a terminal and type gedit then press Enter
Does it for me everytime.

You could also open a terminal and type: man gedit
Where a load of useful information is displayed concerning gedit.

so it's gedit... was searching code and scratch but couldn't come up with anything

appreciate that..

 

gedit doesn't work, i think it's a different program from code (default for Juno)

As far as Gedit is concerned just click on Gedit and then click on the little down arrow opposite 'open'. It's just a matter of selecting the file you want to work on then.

I think you are not using Elementary Juno... Found the command

io.elementary.code

Works...

Gedit doesn't exist in Juno (unless user installs it of course)
