I had a problem with a video to play it on the VLC, and it froze when there was rapid movements. I install "ubuntu-restricted-extras" and that solved part of the problem (now the video goes a little better), but still continues a little freezing. I tried the same video in Ubuntu 15.10 and not froze, so the problem is located in the installation of eOS Loki (I have an ASUS laptop with multiple partitions). I suspect the reason is that in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (where Loki is based) are no longer available X.Org drivers. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Hello josé, i have no experience with radeon graphic, because only nvidia cards, but for Radeon you can try the AmdGPU-Pro proprietary driver, is is any better with this?
From what I've seen, AMD GPU-Pro I think it is not compatible with some older cards. Mine is a HD 6470M. Moreover, I have seen an alternative called "Oibaf", you know it? Regards.
I'm running an RX 580 in my machine, and I would only consider the AMDGPU-PRO drivers acceptable and functional with a newer kernel. I've only tested 4.15.x, but it's the one variable that put forth positive results.
